IT Caretaker or Business Innovator?

With the big ERP vendors lagging in bringing relevant and timely innovations to market, customers are turning to smaller, more innovative providers for leading solutions in cloud, mobile, big data and other areas. The forward-looking CIOs we work with are increasingly rejecting unnecessary upgrades and expensive maintenance fees and redirecting IT budget to invest in solutions the business needs — now — not in ten years when ERP finally gets there. There’s no better way to free up funds for strategic innovation than switching to Rimini Street for premium enterprise software support.

In this issue of Street Wise we highlight Rimini Street clients pursuing innovation with their savings from switching to independent support.

Rimini Street Clients Innovate Around the Edges
ERP is the bedrock of today’s leading businesses. But innovators in the market are delivering the solutions organizations need today — solutions that are faster, better and cheaper. Rimini Street clients get the best of both worlds by cost-effectively running their solid ERP and CRM systems for the next ten years or more AND redirecting saved support and upgrade costs to fund to innovation around the edges of their core ERP and CRM systems.

Our clients use their savings to innovate in many ways. For example, companies like Valspar have elected to forego the expense and distraction of upgrades to focus on rolling out applications to a wider user group. Global manufacturer Southco is applying its savings to derive increased value from its SAP implementation with strategic globalization projects. A Canadian public sector client is using support savings to fund a mobility project for PeopleSoft. A hospital with a long history of innovation is investing its support savings in advanced medical devices and clinical information technology. And a major publisher has exceeded its own ambitious enterprise software maintenance cost reduction goals and is reinvesting its savings in new headcount and IT projects such as enhanced job costing, eCommerce and Web 2.0 applications.
